Grand Forks Herald reports the death of John G Olson late of the city. He died Tuesday morning at his brother’s home near Grand Forks. Monroe-Nelson wed at home of Williston couple

William Monroe and Clara Nelson united in marriage at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. Mackersie. Rev. H. Matthew Callecod officiated. The couple, rose and bridal dress details, reception, and a supper followed by departure for Havre Montana where they will reside as Monroe works for the Great Northern railroad.

Williston Ferry Change In Willis ton Ownership

Good Ferryman Mr and Mrs Geo Baker of Willis ton visited Friday and Saturday to finalize a deal with I C Slette for the old Coulter ferry. Nathan Baker of Albany Ill accompanied them. On Monday the deal closed and Baker took possession at once. Hermen Hioz had run the ferry this summer but quit Tuesday George Baker runs it this week then Nathan Baker will take over. Baker promises improvements and to keep the plant in top shape to please patrons.

Rose Valley Notes From Rose Valley and Painted Woods

Rose Valley reports Rev W J Snow fulfilled his appointment at Hight Mile last Sunday. An organ arrived for Rose Valley church and Mrs W S Martin was chosen organist. Ice cream festival attracted multiple local groups at Painted Woods last Saturday. W S Martin, Rolla Burch and Hiram Simmons plan harvest work eastward this week. W S Rizer visited Sunday School and stayed with Mrs Snow. Mrs Snow’s visitors included Mrs McAlister and daughters. Showers revived vegetation and Peery visited McAlister. J K Smith and son Jake of Sweet Springs were guests of Rev Snow Thursday and Friday. Hattie Stow was elected Sunday school superintendent. Mr and Mrs Simmons visited Mr and Mrs Peppinger. Farmers report sand in cellars and seek remedies.

Dedication Service for Methodist Church Next Sunday

The dedication of the new Methodist church will occur next Sunday with Rev J. Moore presiding elder delivering the dedicatory sermon. Programs include morning worship with organ preludes, hymns, scripture readings, sacraments, and a 7 pm Epworth League service led by Rev W J Snow followed by a 8 pm sermon. Also noted: Three cavalrymen from Fort Assiniboine visit Glasgow and Williston for a short stop before deployment to the Philippines.
