Book and Thimble Club Plans Year of South America Study

The Book and Thimble club meets September 5 at Mrs. Ellithorpe’s home, then every first and third Wednesday, to study South America with knitting for the Red Cross. Officers include Mrs. E. R. Brownson as President and Mrs. A. J. Field as Secretary and Treasurer. numerous departments and a yearlong program list meetings, hosts, and topics from Anecdotes of the Summer to Nitrate Fields of Chile through August 1918.

North Dakota Federation Holds 21st Club Session in Dickinson

The North Dakota Federation of Women's Clubs will hold its twenty first annual session in Dickinson on October 1 2 3 4 and 5. The program includes district reports by eight vice presidents and talks by Mrs H G Vick president and Miss Minnie Jean Nielson General Federation Director. Speakers include Mrs John Dickson Sherman and Dr J W Cox with topics on public health and Red Cross work.

Civic League program is comprehensive and year starts

The Civic League outlines a three department program with music civic and literary focus on Woman In Industry. Topics cover factory work sweat shops child labor and related laws. Social forces like drama newspapers magazines and movies receive attention. Meetings are the first and third Tuesdays at members homes with six o'clock dinner and music. Opening dinner October 2 at 315 East Broadway hosted by Mrs H C Wendell aided by Mrs Harry Foster. Officers: Mrs L A White President Mrs A L Burdick Vice President Mrs L C Wingate Secretary and Mrs Heglen Treasurer.

Election matters to interest ladies and club plans

The Equal Franchise Club will meet September 14 at 7 30 PM in the Public Library to hear Mrs Irwin discuss Legislation on Birth Control Growth of Movement The year’s program includes papers on Juvenile Court Suffrage local and state elections and political science for members and guests. Officers named include Mrs George McIntosh President Mrs Wm Broderick Vice President Mrs A L Burdick Secretary. The Mother’s Club opens September 15 at 4 PM with topics on children home sanitation economy and gift ideas.
