Republican County Central Committee Organizes in Williams County

The Williams county Republican Central Committee met August 6 in the county court room. N Hayes was re elected chairman W R Mumby named secretary H R Lampman re elected treasurer A J Staine re elected on the state central committee. Executive committee named and resolutions endorsed Taft, praised Congress, opposed independent candidates, pledged support to regular nominees, urged continued Republican policies, and endorsed C A Johnson for Governor. There was strong attendance and harmony reported.

Landowners May Access Water Under Reclamation Act

July reclamation notice discusses landowners above a Government canal. It states that if an owner installs a pumping plant to divert water for irrigation from a Government project, power development and irrigation become part of the project under the 1906 act. A permanent contract with power privileges could admit the landowner to reclamation act benefits.
