It shows 17 709 volumes loaned for home use with 25 percent non fiction, over 10 000 daily readers, 2 247 reference questions, a popular rental collection yielding about twenty dollars, and about 1500 borrowers with children making up a third of registrations but half the reading.

Williams county ex emption board reviews physical fitness and exemption claims for nearly 400 men drawn for the first portion of the national army. The first days were slow with about 50 examined. by noon today about 200 had appeared. Exemptions will be decided later, with approvals and rechecks expected into next week as boards follow Washington directives.
