Becker Funeral Held Yesterday
New York, Aug. 2. The funeral of Charles Becker was held from St. Nicholas of Tolentino Church in the Bronx today. Crowds were so large that police reserves were called. A silver plate on the coffin bore the inscription Charles Becker murdered July 30, 1915 by Governor Whitman. The plate is four by seven inches, script letters about an inch high, securely fastened. Mrs. Becker said she sought a reprieve from the governor, who denied it.
