Citizens urged to buy the Third Liberty Loan bonds as a safe, high‑interest national investment. A card index plan will list every person’s likely purchase, with no compulsion to pay listed amounts. A Soldier’s letter emphasizes sacrifice and urges immediate bond purchase.
A Willis ton meeting elected a board of nine to organize a new Industrial Fair Association. R W Nudd was named chairman and C C Rieger secretary. Directors include Nudd Rieger Bruegger Craven Aaberg Peterson Jorgenson Denny Coulter. Ground will be procured and work starts to prepare the old fair grounds for a county fair and a July Fourth celebration.
Congressman P D Norton reports Attorney General Gregory issued an opinion allowing the St Paul Land Bank to continue loans in North Dakota if borrowers post a surety bond indemnifying the bank for losses tied to county feed and seed bonding law. Norton expects the Federal Farm Loan Board to reverse the March 16 order halting loans.
Eighty drafted men from this county and about ninety from Meenzie county entrained for Camp Dodge after a patriotic send off at the Armory. Red Cross kits were issued and speakers urged support from home as troops headed to war.
The Junior Gymnasium classes under Mr Bruegger show enthusiasm and interest in drills. An upcoming Armory Gymnasium exhibition may invite parents school board teachers and city professionals to view marching calisthenics and apparatus work including horse and bars noting rapid development in a short time. H N Stenehjem of Plentywood visited en route to South Dakota.

Haywood among those on trial with Vanderveer Christensen and Miss Catherine Lowe as defense. Government aides include Fitts Clyne Nebeker and Porter. Guards search prisoners as precautions against disturbances.
