The ten mile ice jam began breaking Thursday morning after four days of grip on the river above the city. A flood crest three miles wide and up to twelve miles long swept opposite the city while stock was lost along the Missouri and Yellowstone. Rail delays occurred as trains, including No 4 and No 3, faced washouts and submerged tracks. passengers waited at the depot amid passing ice as two itinerant violinists performed.

Damon and Pythias Draw Crowds at Local Opera House
The drama Damon and Pythias was staged Friday and Saturday to a combined crowd near six hundred. The second night drew the better reception as actors grew more confident in Grecian garb. Revision of the Course of Study in North Dakota
Superintendent M P Tatem returned from Valley City where a committee on Revision of the Course met to draft changes. Prof A B Wallace will prepare the course with outlines for vocational and common subjects, distribution expected by July 1. Reaches High Water Mark In Union Block Scene
Baptist residents of the Union block witnessed a dramatic sprinkling ceremony when the Missouri flooded the block from radiators flooding several offices. The coroner arrived and shut off the air flow through the boiler easing the building back to normal.

Seed Testing Methods For Germination Rates And Conditions
The guide explains seed germination by seed size and moisture using cloth folds or blotting paper. Large seeds like corn peas and beans use moist cloth folds. oats barley wheat alfalfa red clover use blotting paper. flax and timothy on top of moist blotting paper. After preparing 100 seeds per sample, place between the appropriate materials, cover with plates, and maintain about 70 degrees room temperature for one week before counting sprouts.

Young Ladies of the Epworth League at the M. E. Church hosted a Thursday evening program in the church basement. The lineup included piano and vocal solos by Miss Wheeler Miss Moe with Miss Monroe on piano and a ladies quartet by Halverson Rutledge and Carrie Fosse. Messrs. Adden Hitchcock and Halverson performed a vocal selection, and Miss Toftley delivered two readings. A luncheon of cake and ice cream followed, and the event concluded with games.

DIES AFTER TUBERCULOSIS STRIKES IN IOWA MAN
George Shoenfeldt died at Hineline hospital following months of illness from tuberculosis. He collapsed at the Great Northern hotel and was taken to hospital where he died shortly after. His father G G Shoenfeldt had come from Des Moines, Iowa, to arrange care and burial.
