County Emergency Agent A. L. Gabler escaped death after his Maxwell car blew up near Lafayette en route to the city. The fire started when the gas line reservoir plug blew out, the tank exploded, and the interior burned. Loss is about $800. Gabler now drives a Ford sedan.

Attica Man Killed by Train Near Flint Station
William McMaster 45 of Attica was instantly killed at Flint flag station ten miles northeast when he was struck by Wabash passenger train No. 1 at 5 30 p m Wednesday evening. He likely stepped onto the track to flag the train while waiting for the evening plug. The body was not mangled, but the back of his head was severed. He leaves two small sons and his wife had died years ago.

Big damage suit filed over Warren county land deal
A $27,000 damage suit arises from a large land transaction in Warren county. Lee Butler sold 403 acres near Carbondale to John Garrison of Stockwell, taking 160 acres as part payment. John Happenstall on the McDonald farm two miles north of West Lebanon found a black horse with a white face and three white feet hitched to his driveway. He turned the animal and Elkhart buggy with blue raglan coat inside to the roadside for observation and asks the owner to call.
