Willard 1920 Wind Storm and Town Ordinance Shifts
In mid March 1920 Willard faced a severe wind storm that damaged northern areas and left townspeople fearing for their homes, with 60 mile per hour winds and outages delaying service for two days. Mayor Barber issued safety ordinances banning poultry at large and restricting street play by children using coasters and wagons or roller skates, directing the marshal to confiscate infringing items. John W. Poyer of Oberlin bought the New Haven general store, planning to run a first class Willard shop, while Bevier retained the coal business and garage.
