South Central cruised to a 72-28 sectional semifinal victory at Galion High School. The Lady Trojans built a 43-17 turnover edge, forcing 43 Crestline turnovers and outscoring the Bulldogs in every phase while limiting Crestline to 28 points. South Central shot 74 attempts to 37 for Crestline.
South Central dominated Crestline behind Breanna Legg scoring a career high 22 and 11 rebounds, adding seven steals as SCHS outrebounded 47-25. Desiree Kilgore posted 12 points 10 boards while Olivia Blanton added 14. Crestline fell to 2-21, trailing 32-14 at halftime and 72- board tally. South Central advances to Galion Sectional Final versus Mansfield St. Peter's.
Entering with a high turnover rate, EMM'PROBABLEs led Willard by 8 late in the fourth before 12 miscues in the final period. Shelby Murray was held scoreless for 30 minutes before a late basket, as Devon Murray and teammates rallied. Hannah Adams and Marie Thornton led with eight points each and five rebounds.
Willard earned two district alternate finishes as Divauita Spearman placed fifth at 285 with two wins including a 3:07 fall over Seth Gerken and a 7-2 decision against Will Rankin. Kaden Moore went 3-2-0 with three victories at 106, ending 15-17, while Johnny Hernandez added an injury default win at 145. Clyde edged Central Catholic for the sectional team title by three points, with Wapakoneta and Edison following and 13 teams competing overall.
The Rich Rosier League in Willard has three team openings for the 2013 season. Open slots exist for each of the Monday Tuesday and Thursday night leagues, with meetings set for April 7 at 2 p.m. at the Willard Church of God. Willard hosts Shelby as fans are urged to wear white to the home finale. Colt sparked a 43-23 third quarter burst and the Flashes posted strong scoring all game, shooting over 50 percent in every quarter.
