Woman sues city and officers after Willard search warrant shooting
A Lucas County woman, Erica Devlin, filed a five count civil suit in the Northern District claiming Fourth Fifth and 14th Amendment civil rights violations after she was shot in the foot during a Willard search warrant on December 19 2012. She charges City of Willard Officers Draper Slone and Nolen Greenwich Village and officers violated her rights seeking more than 25000 in compensatory damages plus punitive fees costs and interest. The 19 year old was at 631 Pleasant Street when officers arrived and she says she was ordered to the ground and shot as another officer fell on her. She was transported to a hospital and her clothing confiscated. The city has been served and declined comment.

Plymouth man charged in Willard Burger King robbery
Javier L. Vargas, 23, of 419 Plymouth St., turned himself in on Christmas Day after allegedly robbing the Willard Burger King at US 224 on Dec 19. Police say he demanded money at the drive-thru with a firearm, fled westbound, and had a female passenger. A preliminary hearing is set for Jan 2 in Norwalk Municipal Court. Bond is $25,000 cash or securities plus a PR bond, with potential penalties up to 5 years and $10,000 fines. Vargas remains jailed in the Huron County Jail.
