Lancaster man arrested in Willard IGA armed robbery
Willard police say Michael J. Fette, 46, of Lancaster robbed Missler's IGA at gunpoint on Aug 18 at 10:17 p.m. Officers chased and captured him outside the store, recovering cash over $29,000, a 9 mm handgun, ammunition, zip ties, and other items. He was taken to Huron County Jail.

Fire destroys rural Willard trailer. investigators step in
A Saturday fire completely destroyed a house trailer at 4290 Pleasant Street Extension in rural Willard. No one was home. Firefighters arrived at 8:26 am on August 17 and left the scene by 2 pm. A neighboring house sustained siding damage from heat. The Ohio State Fire Marshal and Huron County Sheriff were called to assist in determining the fire’s origin.
