South Central lunch prices eyed to meet state equity
South Central High School cafeteria supervisor Jeanine Wilhelm presented at the April 15 board meeting on lowering lunch counts and rising prices to reach the $2.59 equity standard. She noted current lunches cost $2.10 while state average is $2.60, proposing a 25 cent to 50 cent increase to close the gap. The district could see revenue gains but risks more students bringing lunches as prices climb.
