Deaths Claude E. Reeves 77 Whitewright native dies in Chandler
Claude E. Reeves, 77, died last week in Chandler Arizona where he had lived since 1926. Born February 5 1884 in Whitewright he was known as Shorty and a 64 year Baptist Church member. Funeral services were held in Chandler with burial at East Rest Haven Cemetery. Surviving are wife Maude a son W R Reeves three daughters Teresa Nicholson Iva Lee Hines and Ruby Van Landingham step mother Mary Reeves of Whitewright a half sister Erma Riddle of Dallas and eight grandchildren.

Funeral for James Wilson Gordon Held at Cross Roads Church
Funeral services were held at 2 p m Wednesday at Cross Roads Presbyterian Church for James Wilson Gordon 84 of route one with Dr Charles Ramsey and Rev C C Dooley officiating. Burial followed at Cross Roads Cemetery. Gordon died suddenly of a heart attack in his pickup at the Highways 69 and 160 intersection near Edwards Chevrolet. He was born April 25 1877 in Desert community, married Pearlie Mae Vernon on Sept 30 1906, and was a Presbyterian member known in singing circles. Survivors include his wife two sons Vernon and Bill, a brother Dixie in Denison a sister Mrs W A Donaldson of Ravenna and two grandchildren. He was brother of the late Bob Gordon of Whitewright.
