State Supervisor Praises Whitewright High School Progress
Peyton Irving Jr. state high school supervisor visited Whitewright High on Wednesday and praised its work. He noted sixteen and a half units of affiliation and plans to seek additional credits this session. He said graduates can enter any state higher education institution without examination. Reports on credit applications from Superintendent Durham are pending.

Grayson County to Host Fall Live Stock Show
The Grayson County Live Stock Association secures Kennedy Shows to present a county fair exhibition in Sherman October 21 to 25 replacing the prior plan. A banquet is planned with speakers including U S Department of Agriculture head David F. Houston. The association counts about five hundred progressive stock farmers and promises forty six entertainments.

W C Guthrie Buried at Oak Hill Tuesday
W O Guthrie a former Whitewright resident died at his Tioga home Sunday. Funeral services were held in Tioga and the remains brought to Oak Hill Cemetery Tuesday afternoon at 4 o clock for burial conducted by the local Masonic lodge. He moved to this community thirty five years ago, later lived in Dodd City and Tioga. He was married nine years ago to Mary Sivells and is survived by his wife and two sons and three daughters. He was brother in law of Pete Jarvis and John Harper.

Explosion damages Grayson County Court House in ruins
A Sunday morning explosion left one quarter of the Grayson County Court House in ruins and damaged the steel vault offices of the County Clerk District Clerk and Probate Clerk. Loss is estimated at 75000 dollars amid questions of cause.

Will Cox receives news from the army base hospital adjutant at Fort Sam Houston stating his son William J. Cox is in very satisfactory condition and slowly improving. Doctors warn he will need to remain for some time but he is receiving every attention possible. Friends of Will Cox are glad to hear of the improvement.
