Pioneer matron Cynthia Wheat dies at 94 in Sherman
Cynthia Annie Wheat died last Saturday at her son’s Sherman home at age 94. She was mother to C. E. Wheat of Howe and J. P. Wheat of Sherman, with other daughters in Leahy Texas and Howe. Her husband W. W. Wheat served on Grayson county’s first commissioners court. The family traced their move to Texas from Tennessee as early settlers and a 10 year old photo shows her with descendants Grace Abner and others.
