AAA Explains Cotton Plan and Filing Rules
The Agricultural Adjustment Administration announced that cotton producers seeking payments from the $130,000,000 Congress set aside must file regional sales certificates with county AAA associations. Certificates must cover all cotton from the 1937 crop, show sale date, producer name and address, buyers, and weight details. If sold after September 15, filings are due within 15 days. receipts for seed cotton must show seed and lint pounds, not bale weight. Payments equal 65 percent of the 1937 base, funded if sold before July 1, 1938, with potential increases if funds remain, and a 12c per pound cap minus the 10-market average price.
