Over 2000 bales of cotton were received by Wednesday night with White Wright reporting 2000 plus bales against 1101 for 1921. Gins stayed crowded all night and into Thursday morning as yards held 18 to 20 bales awaiting ginning. Seed cotton sold at 7.50 per hundred and lint at 21.00 to 21.65 per hundred. The market closed 20 points down Wednesday and opened about 17 points up Thursday.
Denison Oklahoma Sept 10 A car driven by John B Preston 55 of Muskogee Okla overturned on a steep embankment south of Colbert. Preston and his sister Miss Davie Preston 50 of Cave Creek Ky were killed. Mrs Preston and Miss Ella Jamison of Cave City Ky were severely injured.
The grand jury empanelled at the start of the August term reconvened in Sherman for its final session. The last week of the August term will see cases transferred to the Fifteenth District Court as criminal court continues for several weeks.

Sherman Sept 11 Judge Rice Maxey denied rumors of being considered for the United States Senate seat against Earle B Mayfield. He said he would not run and would not accept a nomination. He retired from the bench 15 years ago vowing not to seek public office again.
The fourth annual convention of the Texas Department of the American Legion opens in Waco. Congressman Tom Connally of Marlin delivers a welcome address and reviews war events while Mayor Ben C. Richards lauds the city for hosting. Connally’s remark on Woodrow Wilson as commander of the American army draws applause as Legion bands serenade the city at dawn.

San Antonio report says Gene G. Willard pilot, was killed instantly when a Stinson De Haviland plane lost power and plunged from 300 feet near Mission Burial Park just after 5 40 pm. Two 19 year old women Clemine Cromwell and Vivian Johnson were seriously injured. witnesses say the engine cut out as takeoff.
