Rev. J. G. Hagard, former pastor of Ladonia, was assigned to Whitewright Methodist Church by the North Texas Conference in McKinney last week. Hagard and his family will arrive Thursday. He succeeds Rev. H. M. Cowling, who goes to Megargel in the Wichita Falls district after three years in Whitewright. Cowling and his wife left today for Megargel to start new work. In Whitewright they made many friends and leave best wishes behind.

Captain Henry Orsay, 95, who directed federal troops into Austin to establish the Union government at the Civil War end, died at his daughter’s home. Wins Suit for File of Newspaper Taken by Roy
H W Mitchell editor of the Clear Water Record in Neligh Nebraska won a damages verdict of 88.50 against George and Minnie Talbert now of Sidney Nebraska. The claim arose after 70 issues of the paper were taken from the office last spring by the Talberts former visitors. A boy took the papers while no one was present and later more than a year of files had disappeared. Mitchell had sued for 500 dollars.

Fire destroys Trinity University dormitory in Waxahachie
Beeson Hall, Trinity University men’s dormitory, burned to the ground in under an hour Monday morning. The three story brick veneer building housed thirty three students with furniture and personal effects lost. The fire started in a trash chute and caused about 40000 dollars in damage, partly insured. Three students Henry Moore Don May and J D Hampel reached the third floor for belongings and escaped.
