They anticipate commission as ensigns after completing courses at UNC Chapel Hill and Rice Institute. Mrs. James Birt Phillips travels to Tulsa to join her husband, 1st Sgt Phillips, transferred for preflight training and eventual pilot training in the Air Corps.

Slaughter Rule Is Revised By OPA
The OPA revises its rationing rule on point free meat for home use by livestock producers. Farmers meeting provisions may slaughter without a license and consume meat without ration points if livestock were raised from birth or for 60 days before slaughter or if weight increased by 35 percent since acquisition. Residence on the farm more than six months yearly is required, with farm supervision visits counting if at least one third of the period is spent on the claim.

Ration Book Four Expected To Last Long Time
Washington OPA says ration book four should distribute this week and likely not issue another for years. The 92 week book introduces new tokens after February 1 and allows books one and two to be retired as stamps expire. Green stamps cover processed foods until token system takes over.

Robert A. Parsons grew tired of thieves raiding his home in Kansas City Missouri. He bought a large safe and installed it on a sleeping porch. Tuesday night thieves used an extension ladder to reach the second floor and hoist the safe into a window where it jammed in the casing. They appeared to intend to cart the safe away using a truck.

The farm shop on the High School campus resumes operation last Monday with Joe Johnson as instructor and Rex Cruse supervising. Open 1 to 4 p.m., it serves enrolled farmers and High School seniors at no cost and is funded by the Federal government. when sponsorship ends, tools become school property.
