The Denison Herald reports a bright meteor illuminated the night sky around 9 p.m., seen across Grayson County. A stonelike object the size of a car reportedly struck land near Hillsboro, with a hissing sound and a blinding flash witnessed by many observers.
Miss Margaret Lou Sears united in marriage with Mr. Herbert C. Holland at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Marshall. Dr. R. G. Mood of Denton officiated. After the ceremony the couple left for Fort Worth to reside at 1110 Anston Avenue.
Sherman dinner for the Liberty Loan campaign drew 200 newspaper men bankers and their families. Speakers urged universal bond purchases to support the war effort and warn against tax burdens on the less affluent. County and city officials including Dayton B Steed and Henderson Martin spoke on disarmament and the need for economy.
The Eleventh District's seventy five million subscription is apportioned by county banking resources. Grayson County is listed for 1 343 910 dollars, the lowest figure demanded, with a goal to rise by fifty percent. Deputy Governor Hoepes frames the demand as a moral and binding obligation.
