Whitewright prepares a poultry show to be held Saturday December 2 with mayor Echols and Claud Willis coordinating through the Grayson County Poultry Association. Mine Explosion Kills Seventy in Dolomite Alabama
In Dolomite mine No. 3 of Woodward Iron near Birmingham Alabama a coal dust explosion trapped 480 workers. Seventy miners were killed and sixty injured, with one hundred twenty five men later removed from the pit via a man-way between mines Nos 2 and 3. The incident occurred this afternoon and was confirmed late by D E Wilson, treasurer of the company.
