Lions Club Thanksgiving Dinner At Whitewright School
Whitewright Lions and spouses held their annual Thanksgiving dinner at the Whitewright school cafetorium. Peggy Woodson prepared and served the meal for 46 attendees. Awards were given to Charlie Sessom Narvin Alexander Joe Norwood Merrel Dickson and Bill Dyer for new member recruitment. A reception at Whitewright's First National Bank honored Carol Marks for sixteen years of service. A 1959 Whitewright high school graduate, she started as a bookkeeper in November, rose to teller, then assistant cashier, and became cashier in 1974. Married to Billy Wayne Marks, she is the daughter of Frances and the late Charley McLean.

Navy Machinery Repairman Second Class James E. Nigh, son-in-law of Bells Texas residents, is deployed aboard the USS Brooke homeported in San Diego. He will train in antiaircraft and antisubmarine warfare with the Seventh Fleet and may visit Hong Kong and the Philippines. He graduated in 1959 from Conneaut Valley High School and joined the Navy in January 1975.
