Otto Cunningham of Gunter and Leo Anderton of Garland install equipment in the Bay building to open a Speed Queen automatic launderette on Thanksgiving Day. They planned earlier opening but slow equipment delivery caused the delay. The launderette will feature 20 coin operated washers and three large dryers priced at two dimes per washer and one dime per dryer. They are also setting up a similar launderette in Gunter this week.

Funeral services were held at Ector Baptist Church at 2 30 p m Wednesday for Edwin M Wait 66 retired farmer who died Monday at his home in Ector after a heart attack Burial was in Carson Cemetery Wait born in Mississippi May 6 1892 came to Texas at age four and lived around Ector most of his life He was a Baptist Church member Surviving wife a niece a foster son John Ewin Simpson of Wichita Falls four brothers Leon Wait Arkansas Will Wait Tennessee Dee Wait Sheridan Dick Wait Sherman two sisters Mrs John Blankenship Bonham Mrs Earl Hodge San Antonio and a brother in law Jim R Hicks Whitewright
Funeral services were held in Amity Arkansas on November 12 for Mrs Mary Ann Deaton born October 26 1871 daughter of A A and Nancy Wright She married Tilman Deaton in Clark County Arkansas on October 11 1888 Surviving are six daughters from Whitewright Richmond Calif Ector Amity and two others plus four sisters 47 grandchildren and 104 great grandchildren She formerly resided in Whitewright at the home of Mrs Sims.
