Mr. and Mrs. Leon Harper of Bonham suffered multiple injuries in a two car crash on U S 82 near Dodd City. They are the brother and sister in law of Mrs. Geneva Alexander of Whitewright. Also injured were Mrs. Wayne Brown and James Bruce Arnold of Waldo Ark. Three others from Longview and Waldo were less seriously hurt.
New York City's police force ran up a bill of about 3 million dollars or more for extra work to protect foreign delegates to the current United Nations session. Police Commissioner Stephen P. Kennedy said he has asked that either the city the federal government or the United Nations supply the additional money to pay for the service. Taxes could be a lot worse.
Voters will use an 11 by 17 inch ballot with five columns for parties and write-ins and four constitutional amendments. Democratic candidates appear in full across national state county and precinct races. Republican and Constitution lists are almost complete. Prohibition lists only president and vice president. The fifth column is reserved for write-in candidates across all races.

Services planned for 2 p m today in Bonham for 73 year old Mrs. James M. Little of Grand Prairie formerly Bonham. Burial at Willow Wild Cemetery. She died at Terrell hospital after a 10 day illness. Survived by husband two sons five daughters three brothers four sisters and ten grandchildren.
Whitewright High School hosts Homecoming events with a parade 2 30 Friday barbecue dinner 5 7 p m a 8 p m football game and gym dance. Ex students and teachers invited to the dance. Parade cars decorated after 4 pm Thursday and Friday 1 pm. Tickets for barbecue available in advance or at the door. Tigers meet Honey Grove Warriors in a crucial conference game amid recent Whitewright wins and a first place tie.
The Texas attorney general ruled that personal automobiles are protected from seizure for nonpayment of property taxes under homestead provisions. Attorney James R. Irion said the state Constitution shields cars from forced sale, even if a district files judgment against delinquent taxes. The opinion stems from a request by Hutchinson County Attorney Cecil M. Pruett amid concerns over tax collections and district judgments on autos.
Mrs. Ann Deatherage Tyer aged 60 died Tuesday in a Hugo Oklahoma hospital. Funeral services were held in Hugo with burial planned at Oak Hill Cemetery. She was born Savoy daughter of the late A and Mrs. Deatherage and married Joe Everheart of Whitewright in 1916. He was killed in a car accident in Oklahoma and she later married Don Tyer. Survivors include her husband a daughter Joan Everheart Hutcherson five sisters a brother and three grandchildren.
