Effective last Sunday the Katy schedule altered through Whitewright affecting M K T passenger runs. Whitewright becomes a regular stop for one southbound and one northbound daily, with the southbound at 9 55 a m and the northbound at 10 36 a m carrying incoming and outgoing mail. Other trains stop only by special permission or not at all, and some mail handling times are set at the local post office.

In St Louis Missouri Matthew S Sloan board chairman and president of the Missouri Kansas Texas Lines handed RFC representatives a certified check for 2 3 million to fully pay a three year loan made May 28 1935. Sloan cited Katy Lines improving cash position better business conditions in the Southwest and positive outlook for the year. The Katy remained solvent during the downturn meeting all interest charges and the RFC note was its sole outstanding liability.

Mrs. T. B. Moore Dies at Dallas to be Buried Here
Mrs. T. B. Moore of Sherman and former Whitewright resident died at her daughter’s Dallas home. Her body will be transported to Whitewright for Friday 4 p.m. services at the First Baptist Church. Interment follows at Oak Hill Cemetery. She was widow of late Whitewright mayor T. B. Moore and mother of Bryant King Lloyd Moore Ford Moore Z R Langston and W. R. Cox. She was born at Pilot Grove and long resident of Whitewright.

Fire destroys Kim Bell Milling warehouse. $30,000 loss
A 70 by 20 foot ironclad warehouse at the Kim Bell Milling plant burned Friday morning. Loss exceeds $30,000 with about 35,000 bushels of corn and 4,000 bushels of oats inside. Fire discovered around 4:30 a.m. Salvage efforts continue as crews move the corn. insurance covers the loss and plans call for smaller replacement units.

Washington announces a May 31 deadline for emergency crop loan applications in most of the South and Southwestern States with June 15 for all other states. Federal Funds For Texas Pensions Approved

Agriculture Department entomologists report the cotton leaf worm has broken records for early appearance with a half grown worm found at Port Lavaca on May 5. They caution that early starts often lead to heavy July September infestations and advise growers to prepare to fight it. Dusting with calcium arsenate mixed with 5 to 15 percent Paris green is noted as an effective control.
