Rats Killings At Two Barns Reported In Sun Entry

Clothing valued over 500 dollars was sent to Mississippi flood sufferers last Friday. Women from city churches collected packed and donated quilts sheets and other house hold items. The garments were laundered ready for use and the donors were described as generous. Red Cross headquarters in Dallas received the boxes via the Manggum Bros. truck line at no charge.

Russell Lafayette Cameron 60, a pioneer Dallas automobile dealer and former Whitewright resident, died at his home 3415 Harvard Ave. He moved to Dallas 28 years ago and built a lasting car business. Legally Dead Five Years A Sherman Man Returns

Bath school blast tragedy shocks Michigan community
In Bath Michigan on May 18 two dynamite blasts at the consolidated school killed at least thirty eight people including thirty three pupils mostly under twelve. The dead include farmer Andrew Kehoe and school official E E Huyck plus teacher Hazel Weatherbee and others nearby. Officials say several dozen injured were hospitalized in Lansing and search of the ruins continued into the night. A prior blast at Kehoe’s farm home and barn preceded the school disaster.

Oil Mill Controversy Settled After 7 Years

Inventor of Round Bale System Dies in Waco
William T. Bessonnette, 62, famed as the inventor of the round bale cotton pressing system, died after a three week illness in Waco. He was buried in Temple. His device eliminated the need for a cotton compress by enabling gin and bale packing at the gin. Bessonnette perfected the system in Temple, with the first plant at Waco in 1896, and sold it to the American Round Bale Cotton Company. The system remains in use in Texas and beyond.
