Bells High School invites seniors by Sun printing
Invitations for the Bells High School senior class were delivered by The Sun's printing department. Thirty six seniors bought 1,600 invitations and 3,000 cards. The eight page cutout embossed folder includes the class roll. The cost to students was five cents per invitation. This is the third year Bells seniors purchased invitations from The Sun.

Rain Hurts Wheat Crop in Grayson County
County Agent W. O. Teddlie reports Grayson County wheat at about 80 percent of normal due to excessive moisture. Leaf rust has reached 10 percent damage, with stem rust emerging. If humid weather continues for two weeks, stem rust could worsen. About 2,000 of 60,000 acres planted have been abandoned, allowing plow and rotate to neutral crops.
Highway Opened From Gainesville to Wichita Falls
Gainesville to Wichita Falls U S highway 82 now permanently open with a fully hard surfaced route. The completion ends years of work and replaces a winding road. Gainesville chamber may host a celebration soon as the Texas highway commission closes gaps from Texline to Texarkana.

Protests at Rifle Range Over Ricochets Near Loy Park
Sherman area farmers led by W M Kirby protested the Loy Park rifle range after fears that ricocheting bullets could hurt a family member. Neighbors complained the backstop hill is unsafe for high powered rifles used by the Denison National Guard unit. Officials said dirt is added to raise the hill to improve safety. others claimed stray bullets came from a pistol. A Sherman commissioner warned the range should be abandoned if ricocheting cannot be stopped.
