A relief office was set up in Whitewright city hall by the Grayson County relief administrator to handle work relief and direct relief in the area. Jeff Price from Sherman assisted in establishing and training staff, with Enery Christian, R. W. Henry, and Miss Frances Phillips as the core team. Mayor F. M. Echols will supervise. The district now extends from Tom Bean to Bells and north beyond Bells, including Bethel, Pilot Grove, Kentuckytown, White Rock. Farmer Loses Twenty Chickens in Nighttime Raid
J. R. Burk of the Canaan community reports thieves took about twenty chickens from his barn Monday night. Seed corn was scattered and used sacks were taken as the chickens were carried away. Other local losses range ten to twenty chickens, prompting increased shotgun shell sales and fears of further raids.

Committee For Hog Corn Program Elected Wednesday

Whitewright CWA relief aids 192 families and funds street work

Harold W Key Named Whitewright School Superintendent
Harold W Key was elected Whitewright schools superintendent for 1934 35 succeeding F W Smith. A 1924 Whitewright graduate and former student, Key taught at Graham and Mineral Wells before two years as Whitewright high school principal. He earned a B S degree from Texas Christian University and was chosen from about 50 applicants.

Trades Day Draws Crowd Despite Bad Weather in Whitewright
