Woman's College Senior Is Killed In Collision
Greenville Texas Miss Sarah Cowan a 20 year old senior at the Texas State College for Women in Denton died in a hospital after an automobile crash near Greenville. A bridge railing pierced the car inflicting fatal injuries. Miss Cowan's companions Viva Muller John Walker and Sam Montgomery suffered minor injuries. She is survived by her parents Mr and Mrs H B Cowan of Temple a brother Sam Cowan and a sister Mrs Sam Huggins of Dalhart.

History teacher admits chicken thefts from farmers
Marion Kansas, a 28 year old high school history teacher and athletic director, was sentenced to six months in rock breaking for a three year chicken stealing scheme. He stole under 20 chickens per trip, avoided nights, and sold birds to dealers as insurance premium payments, netting about $2000. He is married with a three year old daughter.

Savoy Man Hurt in Crash on Parked Car
T J Miller a 60 year old Savoy man was injured in a collision late Sunday night on new highway 160 two miles north of Bells. He drove north and crashed into a parked car carrying two men and two women. Miller was treated at Bells with two broken ribs and chest injuries. The other car occupants were unknown to officers. William J. Butler Dies Likely of Heart Attack Near Denham Home
William J. Butler was found dead near the Denham brothers in Whitewright area on Tuesday night after going to the pasture to drive milk cows. He appeared to have died from a heart attack, with his body found leaning on a stump. Born June 17, 1862, he moved to Sherman in 1917, later living with his sister. Funeral services were held in Sherman, burial in West Hill Cemetery. Survived by a daughter and four sons, plus a brother and sister.

A Pilot Grove meeting led by County Agent W. O. Teddlie with about 40 farmers and ginners voted to pursue a one-variety cotton program. The majority chose the Watson Mebane cotton, ginners agreed to set aside days for ginning to keep seed pure, and plans call for pooling and selling the cotton in quantity by class.
