Funeral services for Mrs. Joe G. Burks 75 were held at 2 p m Wednesday at Pilot Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Ross Bourland and Rev. Jimmy Duckworth officiating. Burial followed in Pilot Grove Cemetery. She died Saturday night at her Van Alstyne home after a long illness. Born August 23, 1880 in Rose Hill, she married Mr. Burks in 1896 and later moved to Van Alstyne. Surviving are three daughters, two sons, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and a sister.
