Local residents visit relatives and friends across Sherman Denton Texarkana Paris Wills Point and Irving with Easter plans and weekday travels. Notable mentions include Elmer Sanderson at St Vincent's Sherman and family trips by Mr and Mrs Forrest to Texarkana and Crandall.
The column records Mr and Mrs Charles Kelieher visiting Aqua Dulce relatives, Jessie Meade returning from Wilson N Jones Hospital, singing time at Cross Roads Church, and numerous guests at homes of the Barbee, Brown, Myrick, Gillespie, Russell, Ayres, and Harris families. Mrs J J Petrash hosted a birthday party and Easter egg hunt on Saturday for her son David. Guests included Mrs Malcolm Williams and sons Kenneth and Clark, Mrs Herman Bedford and son Michael, Mrs Houston Darwin and children Karen and Bob, Mrs J C Bryant and sons Murray and Randy, Nancy Dollarhide, Mrs Martha Haines and son Bruce, and Joanna Petrash.
The BB Club gathered at Mrs. Floyd Bassett's home with high score by Mrs. Allen T. Short and bingo won by Mrs. Glenn Doss. The West Circle and WSCS met in Sherman for meetings led by Mrs. G. L. Baugher and Mrs. Charles Ayres, planning an April 2 luncheon and kitchen shower. A note urges early hometown news submissions as space is tight. About 900 farmer cooperatives exist in Texas with roughly one third being cooperative cotton gins.
The Kentuckytown HD Club held an all-day meeting at Mrs. Carl Holland's home with a covered dish luncheon. Miss Zelma Moore demonstrated accessories, Mrs. Jim Hardcastle led an afternoon program, and eight members answered roll with favorite accessory designers. The next meeting is set for April 2 at 2 p.m. with Mrs. Robert DeBerry.
Bethel W M U met from 9 a m to 4 p m for a covered dish luncheon. A quilt was donated to the Round Rock Orphans Home. A short playlet Community Missions was presented by Mrs. Franklin and others. Fifteen members and one visitor, Mrs. Guy F Cooper, attended. The W M A will meet Wednesday for Bible study led by Mrs. J H Gosnell.
Mrs. Bobby England formerly Miss Janie Pointer of Bells received a bridal shower at the home of Mrs. W in Whitewright. Attendees included family and friends who celebrated the upcoming wedding with shared gifts and best wishes.
Prizes and contest awards at the gathering were won by Mrs W R Vineyard Mrs W L Jernigan and Mrs O B DuLaney. Hostesses included Mrs Bob Mitchell Mrs Wade Neves Mrs Fred Moore Mrs O B DuLaney and Mrs W S Roddy. Refreshments were served and guests attended.
A community party is planned at Kentuckytown school house at 7 30 p m on Friday March 23. Admission is free but a free will offering will be taken for Glenn Neal whose wife is critically ill in a Louisiana hospital. Everyone is invited to attend.
Rotary Club meeting last Friday featured program chair W. R. Milam with guests Texas Highway Patrolmen Wade Rains and Scott. Visiting Rotarians Ed Barcus and Joe M. Binkley with Mrs. Binkley of Sherman attended. Jack Meador to present this week.
