Postal Consumer Protection Week Targets Vanity Fraud
The Postal Service warns that some mail order schemes prey on vanity and defraud the public with false claims. Officials cite cosmetics weight loss and sexual aid products like the E-Pill, urging reports to postmasters or postal inspectors to curb schemes during the national event February 21 26 1977. A Texas court citation to Knight Furniture Co Inc against Mary Ann Clark and Hang Management Co Inc is also noted with case details.
