The 1951 Tishomingo honor graduate Billy Drew Reeves won the Grayson College Ex-Students Association scholarship after a close vote against Julia Anita Smith of Sherman. Reeves, daughter of Elwyn and Mrs. Reeves, is noted for scholastic achievement, athletic leadership, music talent, and all around senior honors. The event drew 200 to 300 ex-students from Texas Oklahoma and New Mexico.

One Man Army Carrillo Takes Hill Single Handed

At a Tuesday night meeting in Grayson Fannin Counties the Chamber of Commerce reorganized after a year of inactivity. Curlee Cummings was elected president with C B Bryant III as vice president and O W Barker as secretary. Board members are Thomas Sears Russell Summers Glenn Doss Dick Walker George Hight and Griffin Dollarhide Jr. Committees will work with county commissioners and the State Highway Department district engineer to designate farm to market routes from Tom Bean to Whitewright and Ely to Whitewright. The Grayson committee aims to push the Tom Bean to Whitewright farm to market road, while the Fannin group covers Ely to Whitewright. right-of-way work from Grayson line to Bond Street is due next week. Mayor Russell Summers and Joe Hamilton obtained signatures on a right-of-way deed in Oklahoma City on Tuesday.
