The event featured music by Ruth Fogle Evelyn Wilson and a venue of cut flowers ferns and hollyhocks with bridesmaids Mary Freeman and Oma Lee Taylor. After a short wedding trip the couple will reside in Stamford. Frances Phy a Whitewright native is a musician and alumna of Whitewright High School and the College of Industrial Arts Denton. The groom is a Stamford businessman with Swift Gin Company. Out of town guests attended from Texarkana Trenton Van Alstyne Dallas Sherman Desert Greenville and other locales.

Sherman, June 25. James Wesley Scott, 97, a major Grayson County landowner, died at his home east of Sherman. A Confederate veteran and prominent Mason, he is survived by his wife and six children.

The Delmar Shows under Dr. J. E. Sugart manage a carnival on lots near the ice house and will stay through Saturday. George Ampleman known as Big Noise runs a minstrel show and a bronco or wild west display each evening with about fifteen horses and a cash prize for outsiders who ride. James McCusker longtime Katy Texas Special engineer died suddenly Monday morning at McAlester Oklahoma after reeling over at the throttle. Fireman Clayton led the train to a stop and doctors linked heart disease to the death. McCusker, 38 years on the Katy and a former Katy Employers Hospital Board member, was a prominent railroad figure.

First Wheat Arrives as Kimbell Purchases Load at $1.00
The initial wheat shipment arrived at the local market. The Kimbell Milling Company bought it for $1.00 per bushel. Grown on Mrs. Fallahey’s farm north of Ector, it was brought in June 16 by producer W. N. Hall. The crop yielded about 17 bushels per acre and tested No 1. Wheat prices rise as market demand grows.

The Democratic national convention in Madison Square Garden New York City plans to start balloting for a presidential nominee on Thursday after two days of preliminary work.
