Floyd Badgett Dies In High Voltage Tape Contact
Floyd Badgett 61 a well known house mover died Saturday after a steel tape measure touched a 22 000 volt high voltage line five miles south of town on Highway 160. Clyde Boatwright held the pole while Badgett held the tape. Funeral services were held Sunday at Barnheart Funeral Chapel. Burial was in City Cemetery. He was born August 30 1892 in Oklahoma and lived in Whitewright since childhood. He leaves a daughter two brothers two sisters and two grandchildren.

The American Medical Association house of delegates urged auto manufacturers to equip cars with safety belts and shoulder straps and to stress crash worthy design including seats cushions and doors that withstand ten to fifteen times the pull of gravity. The resolution, led by Drs. Halley and Unsug, Colorado state medical society, cites studies showing auto injuries and deaths can be markedly reduced by safety devices. Rotary steel brushes are used to remove scars after the skin has been frozen.
