Wilbur Keith will deliver the inspirational address and W P Z German will speak around 2:00 p.m. in the gymnasium. A basket lunch will follow the morning exercises.

Contract Let For Modern Home Here
Mr and Mrs O C Powell of Dallas signed a contract with L LaRoe Company to build a modern home on lots west of the Baptist parsonage in Whitewright. The total for lot and building runs about 9500 dollars. Powell, a photographer, has rented rooms above Cole and Davis from Joe Johnson for a business site and will move to Whitewright next week. Construction will begin immediately. A second Whitewright deal this week exceeds 30000 dollars but is not released for publication.

Wolfe City reports the start of a frozen food locker plant on East Main Street at the Lyon Gray lumber yard site. Air conditioner accident claims life in Hamilton
Robert R. Rost, 42, died from shock while adjusting a home made air conditioner. His body was found with head and shoulders inside the unit and burns on the shoulders and side of the face. The incident occurred Sunday in Hamilton.

Fannin County jury returns 10 indictments including murder counts. Reginald Leon Fouts, 33, Celeste, linked to a July 10 Leonard wreck that fatally injured Sue Wrenn, 17. Soil Saving Work Resumed in 1947 Program

Service Have 76 Ships, 54 Camps Ready for Training
Washington reports that 54 camps and 76 ships are ready for universal military training. The Army will use 18 camps housing 9,000 to 18,000 men each, with parts of Fort Knox used. The AAF earmarks 12 stations for basic training and 13 for advanced training. Navy centers include Great Lakes and Norfolk with numerous other bases and a training fleet of carriers, battleships, cruisers, destroyers, and submarines. Marines will train at Camp Pendleton and Camp Lejeune. Overall, the services plan to train 850,000 young men yearly, needing 224,277 instructors and thousands of officers, enlisted personnel, and civilians.

Lightning strike victim recalls green flame and pain
Roy Huffman, 54, of Buckeye Lake near Lancaster, described being struck on his cottage porch as a green flame enveloped him. He said thousands of red hot needles felt as the bolt tore his shoes, scorched his legs, and ripped trousers. x rays showed three broken toes as his main injuries.
