Rhoades 98 former Pilot Grove farmer dies in Trenton
Thad Rhoades of Trenton, a retired Pilot Grove farmer born November 13, 1852 in Elmira New York, died Saturday at 12 15 p m. Funeral services were held in Trenton. Burial was in Pilot Grove Cemetery. He married Alpha Jane Davis in 1875 at Jamestown Tennessee. Survivors include three sons, five daughters, two sisters, twenty six grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.

Lake Texoma recorded its twenty first death from drowning after the body of 18 year old Robert N Arnold of Denison was recovered. He disappeared Tuesday while swimming near Sunset resort area three miles north of Denison Dam after diving from a buoy. Engineer Corps Consultant Eddie Laird recovered the body.

Ely Whitewright Road Post Office Gets New Equipment
Postmaster John Biggerstaff announced that about half of the new post office fixtures have arrived with more shipments expected. Some items were damaged in transit and may be sent back for repair, with all old equipment to be discarded except scales, canceling machine, typewriter and adding machine. The upgrade should be completed in two to three months, depending on delivery and repairs, with ownership of old fixtures by Ed LaRoe.

Compromise Offer Clears Korea Deadlock in Tokyo
Red negotiators broke the Kaesong stalemate with a plan on foreign troop withdrawal that met Allied truce team demands. Law Tightens Rules for Texas Juvenile Drivers
