Funeral services were held for John Sadler 80 at the Tom Bean Presbyterian Church with Rev. J. F. Fender officiating. Interment followed in Warden Cemetery. Born December 17 1849 in Fayetteville Arkansas he moved to Texas in childhood. Survived by 14 children and 13 grandchildren.

A 29-year-old Mexican woman was found in a crudely built pine coffin in a shack by police near Corpus Christi. She was hospitalized with pellagra and doctors deemed her prognosis poor.
