Floyd Everheart Jr has been notified by the State Department of Education that he is among 25 young men chosen to represent Texas in the Oglethorpe University scholarship contest. He will attend oral hearings in Austin July 25 and 26, competing for a $5,000 scholarship covering tuition and living costs. If successful, he advances to a Southern regional meet. one finalist will be selected from seven regions. He was recommended by Whitewright High School Superintendent H. W. Key.
