West Grayson County Has Another Killing
Sherman July 10 A fatal shooting occurred a mile west of Pottsboro between 6 30 and 7 30 PM The scene involved Lee Miller and Bell Crabtree after a days long stock dispute Miller claimed Crabtree aimed to shoot Their meeting in a buggy and Miller fired striking Crabtree in the face He died instantly Miller surrendered and an examining trial set Miller was bonded at 5000 He was with his 17 year old daughter and four younger children when the incident happened

Calf starvation case leads to $150 fine in Dallas
Dallas July 8 L. Lewin was fined 150 in Corporation Court for cruelty to animals. Humane Officer Sam Mimms charged that he failed to feed calves, confining them fifteen hours without water. He also faced a charge for keeping a cow tied in a truck patch without food and water for the same period.
