Roof and repairs underway at grammar school
A new roof was installed last week at the grammar school. Workmen are placing metal ceilings in some rooms and plastering others. Arches over north, east and west doors are being torn down and will be replaced. When finished, the building will be in first class condition.

American Legion Picnic Reported a Success in Whitewright
The sixth annual American Legion picnic held in Whitewright last Thursday through Saturday drew large crowds. Saturday night reportedly had the largest attendance ever, with liberal patronage of concessions and rides.
