Texas drops safe driver insurance plan in August
The Texas State Board of Insurance will abandon the merit rating safe driver plan after pressure from legislators. Two thirds of car owners with no accidents will pay lower rates next year. one third with bad records will pay the same as others. The board also cited insurance gaps if penalties rose.
