Sackett Resolution Urged by Texas Higher Education
The Executive Committee for the Advancement of Higher Education in Texas urges voters to adopt House Joint Resolution No. 34 known as the Sackett Resolution. It argues the amendment would authorize the Legislature to fund University of Texas buildings and separate the Agricultural and Mechanical College from the University, while preserving equal equity in the permanent University fund and maintaining distinct, independent institutions as Texas expands its higher education system.
