Bill Turner was a stubborn farmer who chased new ideas to boost farming profits. He bought a valuable bull, built a stable of record cows, and invented hay loading and milk skimming machines. Neighbors doubted him, but his innovations paid off while others lagged behind. His wife now rides in a car in silk.
The Trenton Tribune notes Davis and Ownby consider erecting a 25 to 30 barrel custom flour mill in Tren ton and hopes they proceed. Postmaster J D Wilson Jr and wife welcomed a 9 pound girl Sunday at Whitewright. Junior wished for a son to name Woodrow. Jake Hill to test his electric light plant next week as town wires and street lead lines are being installed. Mrs Will Barbee and children visited Mrs Dee Dyer last week.
Denison merchants at the Retail Merchants Association session in Austin discussed ante-dated checks. They learned a legal opinion says cashing or accepting such checks yields no recourse under the fraudulent check law, since the issuer provides only a paper promise.

A Sherman crowd demanded Deputy Sheriff Arthur O Mary hand over for assault after a youth Salvador Camareno claimed he was struck. Deputies led by Tom Tennison detained the youth, who dodged and was slapped repeatedly. Witnesses disputed blows, while the jailer and physician reported no injuries. Camareno, said to be from St Louis, faced vagrancy charges previously and pledged to stay if protected.
Miss Georgia Lacy of Madill Oklahoma arrived last Friday for a social visit with friends in the area. The brief outing highlighted community ties as residents welcomed her stop.
