Land Bank to Hold Its Rate for One More Year
Land Bank commissioner Albert S. Goss announced that the emergency 3 percent interest rate on Federal Land Bank loans will remain in effect for another year. The 3 percent rate applies to interest due in the year starting July 1, 1936 on nearly $2 billion in loans, replacing the 4 percent rate for that period. After June 30, 1937 borrowers resume the rate at which their loans were originally written, with new loans still issued at 4 percent through national farm loan associations.
