Boy on bicycle hurt when struck by car on South Bend
J H Cantrell is 13 year old son of Mr and Mrs Julius Cantrell injured Friday when struck by John Pace driven auto while he and brother Billie George rode a bicycle on the pavement on South Bend street. Thirty five stitches were needed to close a deep wound from elbow to wrist after a door handle ripped his arm. his younger brother was uninjured.

Despite larger 1936 farrowings, counts trail the 1932–1933 average by nearly 20 percent and likely fall below other years in the last two decades. Spring 1936 pig saves are estimated at 41,884,000 head, up 9,504,000 from 1935 but down 10,359,000 from the 1932–1933 average.
