Burial Service for Birdie Yates Held at Oak Hill

The burial service for Birdie Yates, 39, who died at her home near Ladonia, was held at Oak Hill Cemetery Monday afternoon at 2:50. She was a granddaughter of Mrs. R. K. Smith of Whitewright and a daughter of Lem Yates, who left Whitewright about twenty five years ago.

Several officials of the Texas-Louisiana Power Company will attend a Whitewright Rotary Club luncheon on Friday. Attendees include J. E. Bryan F. D. Mallory Ruth Phillips Steinhauser H. K. Lawrence M. D. Honaker Clyde Craig and C. J. Abbott. Fort Worth guests will bring the Worthians Orchestra to provide music. The group will then travel to Farmersville for a store opening and return to Whitewright for a power plant and store opening Saturday.

Unidentified man found dead in Weatherford car

A man about 35 was found dead in a Weatherford area car near Millsap. Police say fumes from the motor caused death after a punctured tire left the vehicle stalled. I. J. Broussard name sewn in clothing. fuel tank empty. A farmer reported the man sought a tire patch around 2 a.m. The man is believed to have returned.

J A Giles 55 longtime Grayson County superintendent of schools died at Wilson N Jones Hospital Sherman at 2 30 am Monday after pneumonia. Survived by widow Katie Anderson Giles two daughters Mattie Lou Naoma Giles Sherman two brothers A M Giles Abilene L D Giles San Angelo a sister Mrs T T Earthman Merkel. Funeral Tuesday at 2 30 pm First Baptist Sherman with Travis Lodge in charge. Giles born December 12 1874 in St Clair County Alabama moved to Grayson County 1907 served as superintendent 1912 1918 later worked in Bells Golden Rule schools principal of Golden Rule Cotton Mill community died in Sherman.
