Bourbon infused hot dogs debut in Toledo bar

In Toledo at Glen's Bar a Bourbon Institute idea was tested by Maurice Condon and a food maker. A bourbon to meat ratio of about one fifth per 100 pounds was added as the hot dogs cooked. The process vaporizes alcohol but preserves bourbon flavor and aroma so the dogs remain nonintoxicating. About 800 dogs result from a hundred pounds of meat. Guests praised the whiskied franks as tasty and gourmet cooks note bourbon can enhance meat flavors.
