Funeral Held For Whitewright's Oldest Citizen
Funeral services for Mrs. Julia Blanton, Whitewright’s oldest resident, were held at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. E P Wootten and Rev. E M Atherling officiating. Burial followed at Bethel Cemetery. She would have turned 100 on August 4 and was survived by ten children, 34 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, and 13 great great grandchildren.

Bootlegger Has $0,090 in Pocket in Texas Raids
Sherman and Denison saw three men arrested in liquor raids by Grayson County sheriff's department on Tuesday. Seven people were arrested on liquor complaints in two days. A Denison couple arrested Monday night remained jailed Wednesday as charges were prepared. A man at arrest had over $5,000 on him. Hiram Vance of Denison pleaded guilty to possession of whisky for sale and was fined $300. His wife Betty Vance was released on bond.
